Programs for 2011

Thursday, May 19, 2:00 P.M.
Armed Forces Day program honoring Civil War soldier, Presson Peck.
Ceremonies will take at Glenwood Cemetery. The program will then
move to the Susquehanna Room where Bill Searfoss will give a
presentation with displays of Civil War documents. Refreshment served.

Thursday, June 16, 6:00 P.M.
Afton Historical Society Annual Meeting with election of Board Members
and Officers in Susquehanna Room. Picnic - bring a dish to pass.

Thursday, July 21, 7:00 P.M.
Jim Loudon will speak on "Railroads of the Upper Susquehanna Valley."
Location: Susquehanna Room - refreshments available.

Saturday, August 13, 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
Jazz Band Ball Concert in the pavilion at the Museum.
There will be a display of antiques quilts in the Museum.

related to the role of "glamour girls" in World War II.

Antique dealer, Russ Conover will discuss an aspect of collecting antiques
and will appraise any antiques that people bring.
Location: Susquehanna Room - refreshments available.

Thursday, November 17, 2:00 P.M.
Newspaper publisher, Nancy Sue Burns will speak on "Putting Out a Newspaper."
Location: Susquehanna Room - refreshments available.

The Susquehanna Room is in the Jack Bolster Community Center at
105 Main Street, Afton, NY

The Afton Museum is located at 116 Main Street, Afton, NY

The Afton Museum Board meets monthly from April to December.
All members are welcome to bring a matter before the Board.

The Afton Historical Society welcomes visitors to come and
visit the Afton Museum. The Museum is open each Sunday
from 2:00pm to 4:00pm between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Guests, school classes, and organizations may schedule
tours by special arrangements.
