| Employed Worker Training - H1B Grant
The objective of the program is to train employees and to help them realize their full skill potential. Employees in occupation fields of: technology, healthcare and education could be eligible for the H1B. The types of training funded through this project will include short-term training that results in recognized skill attainment levels, one-year certificates, two-year associates degrees, bachelors degrees, masters degrees and vaious industry-recognized certificates. Employer must: Provide the dollar for dollar match, up to $3,000 per employee. Certify that each trainee will rise along the career ladder. Grant a wage gain of up to 5% to employed workers within 6 months of the end of training. Training must result in a documented license, certification, credential or degree that documents skill attainment. Training duration can only last until December 31, 2004. Applications with graduation dates after 2004 will not be considered. If all eligibility criteria are met, training that has occurred after 3/15/02 can be funded.
