| A GREAT START - H1B Grant
Through "A Great Start", employers can receive a wage subsidy of $5 per hour for up to 280 hours a new employee works, if that employee is a recent college graduate. This subsidy is limited to new employees in the technology or healthcare sectors or new teachers in the field of science, technology and math. The job must pay a minimum of $10 per hour and be permanent, full-time positions. The maximum an employer can receive is $1,550.00, which covers FICA, etc. The employer must match this sum. "A Great Start" helps employers tap into the great talents of our local college graduates, while helping to pay their wages during the initial period of employment, when training may be necessary.
